ATL BLACK BUSINESS BOARD
Platform Disclosures & Ranking Rules

Terms of Service

Please review the official rules, disclosures, and guidelines governing the ATL Black Business Board advertising directory.

1. Platform Definition

ATL Black Business Board ("the Board," "we," "us") operates as a paid advertising and self-promotional ranking platform. Businesses submit a payment ("a Bid") to be listed and to advance their rank on our public leaderboard. The business holding the highest active Bid occupies the #1 ranking position until outbid by another business.

Important Clarification:
Not a Game of Chance: This platform is not a lottery, raffle, sweepstakes, or game of chance.
Not Gambling or Securities: This platform is not a gambling product, stock, investment, security, or equity-sharing agreement.
Not a Charity: Contributions are not tax-deductible charitable donations. The Board is a commercial business directory. The Monthly Revenue Share distribution is a customer incentive model, not a charitable gift.

2. Business Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for listing on the Board, a business must meet the following criteria:

  • Be located in or actively serve the Metro Atlanta area.
  • Self-attest that it is a Black-owned business (defined as at least 51% owned and operated by Black individuals). The Board relies on honest self-attestation upon listing. We reserve the right to request verification (e.g., business license, B2C/MBE certification) and to remove listings found to be non-compliant.
  • Be a lawful, active commercial business under local, state, and federal law.

3. Bidding & Rank Rules

  • Any eligible business may submit a Bid in U.S. Dollars ($USD) to claim or increase its rank.
  • Ranking order is determined strictly by cumulative total Bid amount, highest to lowest. Ties are resolved by the earlier timestamp.
  • Bids purchase immediate digital advertisement placement. Your rank holds dynamically based on live bidding activity. Minimum duration at any specific rank is not guaranteed.
  • All Bids are final and non-refundable once processed, as digital ad placement occurs immediately.

4. Monthly Revenue Share & Quadratic Distribution

  • 50% of every business Bid and 90% of every supporter contribution is set aside directly into the shared Monthly Revenue Share pool.
  • On the 1st of every calendar month, the accumulated Revenue Share pool is disbursed across all active listed businesses using a Quadratic Distribution Formula ($w_i = \sqrt{\text{bid}_i}$).
  • Payouts are delivered via Cash App ($Cashtag) or Zelle to the handle specified by the business at signup. Businesses are responsible for keeping payout handles accurate.
  • The remaining funds cover secure credit card processing, server infrastructure, legal compliance, and administration costs.

5. Payment Processing & Micro-Fees

Payments are processed securely via Stripe. By placing a Bid or sponsorship contribution, you agree to Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy. Transactions under $4.00 automatically include a $0.30 credit card processing fee at checkout to cover interchange costs.

6. Limitation of Liability

Placement on the Board is an advertising exposure opportunity. The Board makes no guarantees regarding sales volume, website traffic, or specific commercial outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by Georgia state law, the Board is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform usage.

7. Governing Law & Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia.
